…God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; Romans 4:17
Believers are to live by faith and faith is spiritual and cannot be seen with eyes.
However, whatever you possess you do not need faith to have it and whatever you can see you need no faith to see it, rather you need faith to possess what you do not have and to see what you have not seen.
Many times, when we look at ourselves, we don’t see what we can become. But when God looks at us, He sees what we can become by His grace.
When Jesus first saw Simon, whose name in Greek means “reed,” He changed his name to “Peter,” which means “rock.” But Peter did not instantly become someone with the characteristics of a rock—solid, stable and unshakable? No, for a long time, he continued to act like a reed that bends every which way the wind blows.
Yet, throughout his reed-like behavior, Jesus kept calling him “rock” until one day, how Jesus saw him began to take root in him. That day, on the Day of Pentecost, Peter stood up strong to preach to multitudes and 3,000 people were saved (see Acts 2:41)! Peter had indeed become a rock, a pillar in the early church.
In the story of the Shunammite woman and Elijah, when her only child died she did not confess the death even to her husband and when she got to Elijah, did not confess the obvious negative but her response to both the husband and to Elijah was, “It is well”, 2 Kings 4:18-26. She confessed the positive by faith and her confession became her possession! Her dead son was raised!!!
My brethren, the power of life and death is in the tongue, therefore, like this Shunammite woman, begin to speak about your situations the way you want them to be and not the way they currently are, for there is power in your confession to influence your situations, it may take some time, but expect and wait for it. “Thou shall declare a thing and it shall be established unto you” (Job 22:28), so be conscious of your words and let your declarations and confessions only be positive-what you want things to be.
IT IS WELL WITH YOU
